Statutes of the foundation

The Statutes of the Foundation define the Foundation’s purpose and aims in a legally binding manner. They also regulate matters such as:
  • use of the Foundation’s assets;
  • composition of and collaboration between the Management Board and Board of Trustees;
  • the rights and obligations of the Management Board and Board of Trustees.
The current version of the Statutes of the Foundation from 03/18/2014 was approved by the responsible authority in the state of Hesse, the state government (Regierungspräsidium) in Darmstadt. Any changes to the Statutes must be approved by the authority.
THE FOUNDATION'S SPECIFIC PURPOSES ARE:###GREEN###
  • providing start-up finance for programmatic emission mitigation initiatives
  • raising the profile of programmatic approaches and reducing barriers to investment
  • providing expertise to governments regarding their climate change strategies
The basic assets amount to €10 million; they may be spent within 10 years.

The Statutes define the composition, duties and obligations of the Foundation’s bodies (Management Board and Board of Trustees).
